Clocking In/Out
If you are having trouble clocking in and out, it's because either you are too early or too late, OR you are not located inside your client's home. You have a 7-minute grace period before or after the clock-in time or 7 minutes before or after the clock-out time. If your shift starts at 8am, then you can clock in between 7:53am - 8:07am. If your clock-out time is 1pm, you can clock out between 12:53pm - 1:07pm.
Please clock in and out within a 14-minute window of your scheduled time.
If you are not located inside your client's home, then this will also cause a clock-in or clock-out failure. If you are running late and you are trying to clock in inside the 14-minute window, but you are not located inside your client's home, then the clock-in will not work.
Caregiver Safety & Practice Guidelines – July Reminder
As we move through the summer season, thank you for continuing to provide safe, compassionate, and professional care to our clients. Please review the following important reminders to support consistent, high-quality service across all visits.
No Nail or Hair Care
Caregivers must not cut or trim fingernails, toenails, or hair under any circumstances, even if requested by a client. These tasks carry a risk of injury or infection and are outside the caregiver scope of practice. If a client requests nail care or hair services, please contact the office for guidance.
Stay Within Scope of Practice
If you are ever unsure whether a task is appropriate, pause and contact the office before proceeding. We are always available to support you and clarify expectations.
Fragrance-Free Care Environment
To ensure client comfort and safety, please avoid wearing strong perfumes, colognes, or heavily scented lotions during shifts. Many clients are sensitive to fragrances due to allergies or respiratory conditions.
ADL Documentation
If any Activity of Daily Living (ADL) is not completed for any reason, please document it clearly in the care notes, including the reason. Accurate documentation ensures continuity of care and supports quality oversight.
Transportation & Mileage Documentation
If you are authorized to transport a client and submit mileage reimbursement, please document the transportation provided and the purpose of the trip. Complete and accurate documentation is required for reimbursement and compliance purposes.
Thank you for your continued dedication and professionalism. Your work makes a meaningful difference every day, and your attention to these guidelines helps ensure safe, consistent care for every client we serve.
